Is anybody actually “good” at fantasy football? Ranking the Rankers is an ongoing experiment to try to answer this question. Each week 12 fantasy experts play each other in head-to-head matchups, based on their weekly player rankings. They also play a dim-witted computer algorithm named DAMO (Dumb-Ass Machine Orderer). For the details of how it all works, read this post.
Week 12 Results
|Ranker||Site||W||L||PDPM||W (yr)||L (yr)||PDPM (yr)|
QB: Carson Palmer over Robert Griffin III, 11.4 PDPM
RB: Eddie Lacy over Frank Gore, 9.2 PDPM
WR: Kendall Wright over Eric Decker, 14.5 PDPM
TE: Coby Fleener over Julius Thomas, 10.5 PDPM
KR: Jay Feely over Nick Folk, 8.7 PDPM
DF: Steelers DST over Texans DST, 9.8 PDPM
Some explanation is in order. These are results from Week 12. Due to holiday travel I wasn’t able to put them up last week. (Apparently the aptly named Adam Rank was also busy, as he didn’t submit rankings — at least not when I checked — so he goes 0-0 on the week.) The results are late but they are here, which, unfortunately, is more than I can say for the Week 13 results, as I was unable to grab the Week 13 rankings last week (again due to holiday travel). And apparently if you don’t get them before the next week’s rankings are posted online, they are gone forever — lost to ranker oblivion. Not even a Google search could find them. (Actually, I could find the ESPN rankings, but not CBS or NFL.) So, I’m just calling Week 13 a scratch. Oh well, Michael Fabiano probably would’ve just gone 12-0 anyway. That dude is mopping up in this little experiment.
