Is anybody actually “good” at fantasy football? Ranking the Rankers is an ongoing experiment to try to answer this question. Each week 12 fantasy experts play each other in head-to-head matchups, based on their weekly player rankings. They also play a dim-witted computer algorithm named DAMO (Dumb-Ass Machine Orderer). For the details of how it all works, read this post.
Week 9 Results
|Ranker||Site||W||L||PDPM||W (yr)||L (yr)||PDPM (yr)|
QB: Tom Brady over Matt Ryan, 16.6 PDPM
RB: Zac Stacy over Fred Jackson, 14.9 PDPM
WR: Marlon Brown over Steve Johnson, 14.8 PDPM
TE: Tony Gonzalez over Jordan Cameron, 11.4 PDPM
KR: Ryan Succop over Nick Novak, 3.3 PDPM
DF: Panthers DST over Bengals DST, 12.8 PDPM
DAMO is back to its losing ways, with it’s eighth winless performance in nine weeks. It fought hard against Marcus Grant, but as the Buccaneers and Texans found out, fighting hard isn’t always enough to pull off the upset. (Although it is if the other team’s best player breaks his collar bone in the first quarter.) Jamey Eisenberg moved into a tie for second place on the season with an undefeated week.
